On-street bookstores serve as valuable cultural and community centers. We have lost so many as virtual book outlets (Amazon, etc.) have dramatically impacted their numbers. Something unique has been displaced by this trend, but––thankfully––growing awareness of this troubling fact is resulting in the return of brick and mortar book retailers around the country. It is my fervent hope this movement will continue.
